According to an interview one of A Fleeting Glimpse's contributors did with Storm Thorgerson recently in Birmingham, England, Pink Floyd have a box set coming out next year and Storm has been working on the art.

"Next year is a big year for the band. Forty years "man and boy". Now there's an idea" so you heard it here first if that's the title of a new boxset. "I hope they do something mostly for the fans" but no decisions have been made yet

I think I will have to quiz him some on that when I interview him!!

Of course DSOTM always comes up. "I just redid the prism for Roger. I turned it into a painting. An impressionistic painting" based on Monet and Van Gogh's idea of painting the same thing in different lights.
"The first version of DSOTM was a drawing, the second one was a photo, the third was a stained glass which I thought worked fantastically and I actually like it more than the others" and now the impressionistic painting but Storm is still open to more iterations. "If the band wanted to redo it then I would. As far as I'm concerned I'd rather I redid than someone else. I don't want some other schmuck doing my piece"
look he did that painted variation of the Dark Side logo for rogers current tour
I said it reminded me of Monet in another thread
yall owe me $20- cuz I guessed right

My hopes for the boxset, whether it is audio, video, or both:

All audio materials encoded in 5.1 Surround Sound/Stereo Hybrid-SACD.
All video materials encoded in high-resolution DVD widescreen-if-possible.

=====

Audio:
Complete live performances of BBC Sessions (similar to Led Zeppelin).
All singles that ever were released and unreleased (7", 12", EP, etc.).
Many more...

DVD:
Rare live/interview/candid footages from each time periods.
All music videos versions that ever were released and unreleased.
Few complete live performances if not complete live songs such as video of "Cymbaline", etc.
Behind the scenes of.
Older interviews set up in chronological order.
Ends with current day (by 2007) band members interviews/comments/retrospectives, etc.
Many more...

=====

Keep all materials in chronological order
Contain good chapter menus
Hidden features
Please: subtitle all video materials!

Any of you can add more to my fantasy boxset?

It will probably be like Shine On but with a bonus half-full DVD (instead of the rare singles CD) you can only get by buying the whole thing...why are they even bothering....

Was the Storm exhibition in LA THIS July?!? I only live a couple miles from there...ugh I didn't even know about it....

Couldn't agree with you more. What's the point of releasing TWO boxed sets from ONE band? What could possibly be in there worth the release???? They won't release the Wall 80/81 video material, there will not be any 70's live audio material nor will they officially release the BBC material. And there is no '73-'77 video material. :?:
